Green-Lipped Mussel concentrate is produced by a unique extraction method from the Green-lipped mussel that only lives in the pure waters around New Zealand. This makes the product free from bacteria, toxins and heavy metals.
The mussel concentrate has been used for 20 years to treat joint problems and relieve pain. The anti-arthritic effect is mainly associated with the glycogen fraction in the mussel. The unique extraction method works without toxic chemicals and has the additional advantage that the active components, such as glycogen, show a greater effectiveness and other valuable nutrients are preserved. The mussel concentrate is produced from 100% “mussel meat” and contains no shell particles or other substances, which are removed during the production process.
The product contains proteins, complex carbohydrates, fats, naturally chelated minerals, enzymes, nucleic acids and muco-poly saccharides (including glucosamine) which can provide nutritional support and in particular have an effect on the joints. As a food supplement it can be added to feeds for (agricultural) pets. Several studies show positive effects in horses and dogs with joint problems.
